Character Description

Spot is a fish who leads an isolated life because he is somewhat shy.  This sense of isolation causes him to feel that his life lacks meaning.  His desire to find fulfillment in his life leads to his willingness to accept the friendship of any fish that offers it and to do the things that give their life meaning even if he doesn’t enjoy doing those things himself.  Eventually, Spot learns to find the things about himself that make him happy and once he does this his life is no longer empty and he no longer feels alone.

The Maelstroms are a rough and tumble group of fish.  They live in a relatively safe part of the ocean and are therefore fun-loving and rather reckless.  They are daring and high-spirited without a care in the world and are always happy to make new friends.
