CSE 456 - Story for Digital Animation

Assignment #3 Stories

Part A:

A Prodigal

1) Once upon a time there was a boy who was very rebellious.
2) And every day he disrespected all authority and caused all kinds of trouble everywhere and no one was able to tolerate his behavior.
3) Until one day, his parents had no way to deal with the boy but to send him away.
4) And because of this, the boy had an extremely difficult time trying to survive.
5) And because of this, the boy realized how much he had taken everything for granted in the past.
6) Until finally he regretted what he did and went back home; sincerely ask for forgiveness from this parents and they lovingly took him back.
7) And ever since that day, the boy transformed to be a very respectful and obedient child.

The setting of this story is in the modern day and begins in a home.  But as the story progresses while the child is cast out, it can go to anywhere as the child is wandering around. The main character is a boy and his obstacle is failing to respect the authority over him. As he trying to survive on his own after being cast out, he finally realizes his loss because of his behavior and is willing to repent.

The armature is: “Children should respect authority.”  This is demonstrated by starting with a boy that did not have any respect for authority.  Due to this behavior, he was sent away from his home.  This experience teaches him to value the privileges granted to him from the authority, like food, clothes shelter provided by his family and the safety provided by community, etc .

I believe that a story like this needs to be told because disrespect authority is a problem in today’s society and seems to be getting worse. Animation is a good way to produce such a film for a few reasons. First, it will enable the film to reach the younger generation, to whom the main lesson is aimed. Second, it allows the story to take one more imaginative scenarios when the boy was cast out of the house without making it frightening. Third, throwing a child out is a very extreme idea, and in animation it would not be as offensive of a scene.

Work, work, work!

1) Once upon a time there was a man who wanted to earn more money at his job to support his family.
2) And every day he worked very hard and long hours, but he was never able to achieve his goal.
3) Until one day, the computer at his work came to life to instruct him how to become rich through a secret method and it worked.
4) And because of this, the man got so excited and spent more and more time with his computer to ensure that he could get even more money.
5) And because of this, the man’s health deteriorated from the stress and his family fell apart due to his ignorance.
6) Until finally, one day the doctor informed him that he would only have a short time to live and his wife threatened to take the kids and leave.
7) And ever since that day, he turned off his computer to refuse its enticement and sought for reconciliation with his family and treatment for his health problem.

The setting for this story is within an office building in the current time.  I believe that this story can be placed in various time periods, but tell of the same issue, because of the timeless nature of the problem at heart.  Many of the scenes would take place right in the workstation of the worker. This story's main character, the worker, must overcome his obsession to earn money. He overcomes this when he loses things money cannot buy.

The armature of the story is: “There are more important things than earning money.”  The story demonstrates this by using a man who is obsessed with earning money. When he starts to earn the money, he spends more and more time at work to get more.  Finally, he loses his health and family, two things his money could not buy.  This opens the man’s eyes to see what is truly valuable in this life.

I believe this is a story that needs to be told today because in our society, and it could happen in many other times and societies, people become consumed with work and it dominates and even controls their life.  They will sacrifice families and friends for fortune.  Animation could be used to tell this complex issue in a simple manner and easier to get the attention of the viewers. We can really exaggerate the attitude of the worker to covey a workaholic man who suddenly loses everything that much more valuable to him.

Not Just A Lump

1) Once upon a time there was a lump of clay lying in an artist’s tool box
2) And every day the artist would use items from the box to do his work, but never paid attention to the clay, which made the clay very disappointed.
3) Until one day, to the clay’s delight, the artist took the clay out of the box and put it on his workbench.
4) And because of this, the clay faced being pounded, beaten, stretched, rolled and burned every day.
5) And because of this, the clay was in a lot of pain and wished that he had never been chosen.
6) Until finally, the artist molded the clay into a beautiful vase and put it on the mantle.
7) And ever since that day, all the pain was gone and the transformed clay was proudly standing on the mantle to be admired by all.

The setting for the story is set in modern times.  The scene takes place in the artist’s workshop.  Our main character in this story is the lump of clay. Its obstacle is its wants to reach its full potential but it must pass through much suffering.  In the end it does reach its potential and understands all the pain was necessary.

The armature of this story is: “It is sometimes painful to reach one’s full potential and/or goal.”  This is demonstrated by the lump of clay wanting to be used by the artist in his work.  But, to be used by the artist, it had to go through many painful experiences, shown by the pounding, stretching, etc.  Finally, when the clay makes it through the experience it turns into a beautiful vase.

Many people let their fear holds them back from reaching the full potential that he/she could have achieved.  This story is meant to help people see that there is a “light at the end of the tunnel.” I believe animation would be best for creating such a film clip because it allows a creator and viewer to give life to the clay and believe it has feelings.  We can even add a face on the clay to show its emotions.  In live action, when a person sees a lump of clay, usually a person sees only a lump of clay. It is hard to attribute new qualities to something we are already too familiar with being inanimate.

Part B:

An Acorn a Day, Keeps Calamity Away

1) Once upon a time there were two squirrels who lived together
2) And every day the two squirrels came back from hunting for acorns; one filled his stomach with all he could find and got really fat, but the other one took some extra acorns home to save.
3) Until one day, a snow storm came and the two squirrels could not go outside any more.
4) And because of this, the fat squirrel had nothing to eat for many days and got really hungry, while the other one had food every day from his storage.
5) And because of this, the starving, fat squirrel needed to beg his roommate for some food to survive
6) Until finally the weather grew warmer and the snow melted and two squirrels were able forage again.
7) And ever since that day, the two squirrels both returned from foraging with extra acorns to store away.

The setting all takes place within a squirrel’s home in a tree.  The obstacle in the story is the fat squirrel’s lack of wisdom to store for times of need.  He learns this lesson through the example of the other squirrel and how it is prepared for the storm.

The armature of the story is: “Store up for times of need.”  This is demonstrated by the story by first introducing a fat squirrel that does not think it needs to store any extra food, but eats it all. We also have a squirrel that will serve as an example to the fat squirrel.  The turning point happens when the storm hits and the fat squirrel can’t go out to get food.  It has no other choice but to borrow from his companion.  This makes him realize the importance to store up.

I believe this story should be told because it teaches the important principle of wisely saving excess for when calamity strikes.  Too many people live in the here and now and do not think about the future.  This would make a good animated film because we can really exaggerate the gluttony of the fat squirrel and make the squirrel perform human actions, such as begging on its knees.

Growing Pace

1) Once upon a time there was a man who sowed a seed to grow a house plant.
2) And every day he watered the seed and expected to see it become a beautiful plant, but it seemed that the plant did not grow as fast and beautiful as he expected.
3) Until one day, the man grew impatient and he pulled the plant a little bit to help it to grow.
4) And because of this, the plant seemed to grow a little taller and the man was very happy.
5) And because of this, the man started to help the plant grow by pulling the plant out a little more every day.
6) Until finally the plant’s root were exposed and the plant withered
7) And ever since that day, though the man sadly lost this plant forever, he learned his lesson that everything needs to grow at its own pace.

The setting takes place in the living room of a house.  The main character has the obstacle of patiently waiting for his plant to grow.  He eventually learns patience to allow things to grow at their pace when his plant dies because of his “help”.

The armature of the story is: “Be patient, don't force things to happen.” This is demonstrated in the story by showing a man with very little patience with the plant’s growth.  When he loses his patience, the man starts forcing the plant to grow by pulling at it.  Eventually he pulls too much and the plant is uprooted and dies.  Losing the plant then teaches the man the lesson to let things grow at their own pace.

This is an important story to tell in our busy world.  People are always in a rush and impatient when this are not done fast enough or other people don’t learn fast enough.   Almost always, when things are rushed, the outcome is not as good as it could have been. In an animated format, it will be easier and more impressive to express the man’s impatience with the plant and its sad result.

Not Just A Lump

1) Once upon a time there was a lump of clay lying in an artist’s tool box.
2) And every day the artist would use items from the box to do his work, but never paid attention to the clay, which made the clay very disappointed.

6) Until finally, the artist molded the clay into a beautiful vase and put it on the mantle.
7) And ever since that day, all the pain was gone and the transformed clay was proudly standing on the mantle to be admired by all.

Part A:

Revised Assignment 1 story: Split Splat

1) Once upon a time there was an Egg with a blue hat.
2) And every day the Egg with a blue hat played on the swings.
3) Until one day an Egg with glasses showed up to play on the swings.
4) And because of this they started to compete who could swing highest.
5) And because of this they started to compete who could jump farthest.
6) Until finally the Egg with the blue hat slipped and fell with a crack.
7) And ever since that day the Egg didn't try to jump farther than he could manage.

Armature: Better be safe than sorry.

While the seven steps has made this story more clear and easy to follow, it felt hard to fit my original ending into this frame. I still like the ending of having one egg break and becoming a chicken and another following only to become a fried egg. However that doesn't really fit with 'until finally' and 'and ever since that day.

Nuts and Bolts and Lasers

1) Once upon a time there was a squirrel named Ned that loved nuts and berries.
2) And every day Ned would play in the junkyard to make tools to get into the birdfeeders that he couldn't reach.
3) Until one day Ned made a Laser gun.
4) And because of this Ned was able to shoot down birdfeeders.
5) And because of this Ned could eat nuts and berries growing bigger with each one he ate.
6) Until finally he became so big and round he started rolling down the street, smacking into things that made the nuts shoot out of his mouth.
7) And ever since that day Ned was never greedy enough to eat from the birdfeeders.

Armature: Don't be greedy for more than you can handle.

As it was pointed out, the falling in radio active waste, while can be humorous is hard to tie ends. So I changed to having Ned build a laser gun. I simplified a lot of the process to make Ned's goals and actions more clear, along with the result to fit the armature.

Ice in my Tummy

1) Once upon a time there was a mean dragon named Fred.
2) And every day Fred tried to burn down a village.
3) Until one day he came across a child who dropped an ice cream cone in fear.
4) And because of this Fred learned the taste of ice cream and became addicted to it.
5) And because of this Fred threatened the villages to bring him truckloads of ice cream or he'd burn the village down.
6) Until finally Fred had brain freeze from eating too much ice cream.
7) And ever since that day Fred couldn't blow fire because his tummy was so full of ice, and the villagers were able to chase him away.

Armature: Abuse of power brings consequences.

Since it was an abrupt and unlikely change that the villagers would let Fred work in the ice cream store, I changed that to having the villagers chase Fred away. This also supports the armature as being a consequence (being unwanted, being chased away) of abusing power (threatening to burn down a village, demanding truckloads of ice cream).

Sand Castles

1) Once upon a time there was a boy named Ted that lived by the ocean.
2) And every day Ted would make a sand castle.
3) Until one day a girl named Sally to make a sand castle next to Ted.
4) And because of this they started to compete by making better sand castles.
5) And because of this Ted broke part of Sally's castle so it wasn't as good.
6) Until finally Sally dumped a bucket of water and broke Ted's entire sand castle, and stomped off home.
7) And ever since that day Ted never wrecked another person's sand castle ever again.

Armature: Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.

The original ending didn't resolve anything and didn't fit with the previous steps, so I changed the second half of the story to fit a more clear armature. Instead of having an unresolved ending of making sand castles over the entire beach, I had a conflict between Ted and Sally of breaking each other's sand castles. This teaches Ted a lesson that he shouldn't do something to others if he wouldn't like them to do it to him.

Part B:

Vegetables

1) Once upon a time there lived a piggy bank.
2) And every day piggy bank ate spare coins on the dresser.
3) Until one day a boy emptied all the coins out of piggy bank!
4) And because of this piggy bank was weak with hunger.
5) And because of this piggy bank went looking for more coins to eat.
6) Until finally piggy bank found a dollar bill to eat that instantly made him strong.
7) And ever since that day ate dollars on the dresser.

Armature: Eat your greens they're good for you.

This is a story where a piggy bank neglects eating greens until he discovers greens and learns how good they are for him. It is a comparison to people who don't like to eat their vegetables and get sick if they don't eat them. To a piggy bank, it's food is coins and bills. Money wise, it shows that a piggy bank eating greens may be stronger than a piggy bank eating pennies.

Scissors and Flowers

1) Once upon a time there was a teddy bear.
2) And every day teddy bear would run with scissors even when the other teddy bear told him not to.
3) Until one day he tripped and cut off an eye.
4) And because of this he couldn't see straight.
5) And because of this he bumped into the walls.
6) Until finally the other teddy bear sewed a flower on for his eye.
7) And ever since that day the other teddy bear laughed at him.

Armature: Don't run with scissors

This story shows that running with scissors is a very bad idea and how dangerous it can be. By showing the consequences both physical and mental through "society" (the other teddy bear) it supports the armature of don't run with scissors. It should be represented as an animation because filming a person or animal or even stuff animal running with scissors and having their eye cut out would be very gruesome and uneasy to see. (I also doubt that anybody would volunteer to be the person to have their eye cut out.) Through an animation it can be represented in an lighthearted humorous but meaningful way.

Two Mice

1. Once upon a time there were two mice.
2. And every day the mice went swimming in the kitchen sink.
3. Until one day there were bubbles in the sink.
4. And because of this the mice couldn't see the bottom.
5. And because of this one of the mice fell into the sink and got stuck in the drain.
6. Until finally the mouse ate all the bubbles and hiccuped up out of the drain.
7. And ever since that day the mice went swimming in the soup bowl instead.

Armature: Don't jump in if you can't see the bottom.

This combines the ideas of not jumping in water if you can't see the bottom and finding mice in soup. When there are a lot of soapsuds in the sink you can't see the bottom and it's possible that there are hardly any water at all. By jumping anyway and getting stuck in the drain the mice learn the danger and consequences of jumping where they can't see where they're going. They can however see and even reach down to feel the bottom of a soup bowl that is safer. This can only be represented through an animation because mice don't normally enjoy going swimming inside a sink. Eating bubbles and hiccuping out of a drain is also a highly unlikely thing to happen in real life.

How Tibbir Turned to Ribbit

1) Once upon a time, there lived a Mother frog with her son.
2) And every day her son would disobey his mother for fun, and shout out "Tibber" instead of the Ribbit she instructed him to.
3) One day, the mother frog became deathly ill from the stress and grief her son gave her.
4) The mother frog knew her time was near, and  instructed the boy to bury her in the shallow mud because she believed that he would do the oppisite, and bury her in the deep earth.
5) Upon her death, the son felt that he should listen to his mother’s dying wish and bury her in the mud.
6) It rained heavily one day, and the mother’s body was swept away by the rain.
7) Ever since that day, whenever it rains you can hear the frog’s  sorrowful cries of "ribbit" in remembrance of his mother.

Armature: Don’t regret your actions.

The set is a little boy‘s room, a humanized frog. There is one scene outside when the frog is burying his mother in the mud and in the main story, the obstacle that the character is overcoming is disobedience. The character eventually overcomes their disobedience, but it still resulted in a negative outcome; he realized his mistake all too late.

This story should be an animated film, because there would be no other way to depict a talking frog family. It is important for this story to be told because it is a moral lesson story. It teaches children to listen so that there is no regret.

The fish who followed

1) Once upon a time there was a brown fish who longed to be like the pretty goldfish. 2) Everyday, the fish would mimic the goldfish in hopes to look like the goldfish 3) One day, the goldfish saw the brown fish, and decided to teach him goldfish ways. 4) a shiny object caught the goldfish’s eye, and thinking it was food it swam up to the shiny object. 5) The brown fish felt uneasy about going to this object, and turned back towards the bottom of the tank instead of following the goldfish. 6) The shiny object actually turned out to be a tank filter that sucked up the fish and killed it.. 7) witnessing this event, the brown fish was thankful that he did not mimic the goldfish‘s every move.

Armature: Don't always follow the crowd.

The set for this story is in a fish tank belonging to a child. The main character is a brown fish that longs to fit in with the goldfish. For a brief moment, the fish overcomes his loneliness because he able to copy everything the goldfish does. This film would be perfect for an animated clip because the angler fish would be better represented as extreme. This story to teach children that copying other children, or having whatever others have is not always good.

A Monster and His Pet

1) Once upon a time there was a monster who had a pet duck.
2) Everyday the monster would love and play with his pet.
3) One day, the monster received a bright red ball as a gift.
4) Infatuated with the ball, the monster forgot his pet and did not love and care for it as he did before.
5) Overcome with loneliness, the duck wandered off to find a new master.
6) When he realized that his pet was gone, the monster was overcome with sorrow. The monster wandered around to find his pet huddled alone in a corner.
7) Ever since then, the monster realized just how much his duck meant to him.

Armature: You don't know how good you have it until it's gone.

The set for this story is in the monster‘s house. The main character has the obstacle of realizing the "value" of his pet duck. This story would have to be represented as a animation because the main character is a monster. This story is important to share, to teach children to appreciate what they have.

Hair Raiser

Once upon a time there was a very handsome man and every day he looked in his bathroom mirror but was never happy with his reflection because he was too busy checking for flaws. Until one day, while primping his hair, he was appalled to discover that it was falling out by the handful and because of this he swallowed an extra-strength hair growth pill from a bottle that he had in his medicine cabinet.  His hair stopped falling out immediately. The man was relieved but still not happy and because of this he proceeded to swallow the entire bottle of pills. His hair started to grow at a rapid rate and the man could not stop staring at his reflection and dancing for joy until finally he could do neither because not only was the hair on his head growing but also the hair on the rest of his body.  His eyelashes got so long that they webbed over his eyes, his nose hair got so long that he could only breathe through his mouth and the rest of his body hair got so long that it cocooned him.  He managed to bounce and roll his way to the sink and push his hand out of his cocoon far enough to grab his electric razor.  Slowly but surely he shaved every trace of hair from his body. And ever since that day the man has looked in the mirror at his hairless reflection and smiled.

Armature:  Just because you’re beautiful doesn’t mean you’re happy.

The story takes place in a household bathroom in the morning.

The obstacle that the character has to overcome is his own physical insecurity and he is able to overcome it.

The story should be presented as animated film because it will be the best format to watch the man’s hair grow and then be shaved off in a ludicrous fashion.

It is important for this story to be told because people aspire to look like the models on magazine covers thinking that their lives will then be better, ergo, they will be happier.  People will often go to extreme lengths to attain these goals using such methods as excessive dieting or plastic surgery.  No one ever stops to wonder if the models may not be happy with their lives.

Bot Wars

Once upon a time there was a very messy man and every day he spent sitting in his armchair, watching TV, dropping cigarette ash, potato chips and part of anything else that was supposed to pass his lips onto the floor. Until one day when he was sitting in such a large pile of garbage that he couldn’t get out of his chair and because of this he called a local cleaning company, using the cell phone in his shirt pocket, who sent a maid-service robot to his house.  The robot cleaned and cleaned until the man was free.  The man then promptly started making a mess again which the robot promptly cleaned up. The robot couldn’t take a break from cleaning and started to overheat and because of this became very angry with the man until finally the robot sucked the man up its vacuum tube leaving no mess to clean up. And ever since then the robot, having nothing to do, has been left to rust.

Armature:  Excess in anything is never healthy.

The story takes place in a living room during the course of a few days.

The obstacle that both characters have to overcome is their own excessive behavior whether learned or programmed (the man’s messiness and the robot’s cleanliness).  Neither overcomes their obstacle.

The story should be presented as animated film because it will be the best format to watch the rising mess and the robot’s actions.

It is important for this story to be told to remind people that excessive behavior of any kind rarely has a positive outcome for any of the parties involved.

Laser Tag

Once upon a time there were two brothers.  One was big and buff and the other was small and nerdy. They shared a bedroom and every night the big brother would strut around showing off his huge muscles and then purposefully step on his little brother as he climbed into the top bunk of their bunk beds until one night when a spaceship crashed through the ceiling of their room and lay across the roof’s trusses.  A blue laser beamed out of the base of the spaceship and began to probe around the room.  Both brothers tried to hide. The little brother crawled into the laundry hamper and because of this the laser beam couldn’t find him but his brother was too big to fit in or under anything and because of this the laser beam easily found him.  The laser beam wrapped around the big brother like a lasso and started to pull him into the ship. He struggled against the laser beam until finally he ran out of strength.  The little brother jumped out of the hamper and wrapped himself around his brother’s legs, giving one last desperate tug.  It was enough extra weight to unbalance the spaceship and in order not to crash the spaceship was forced to retract its laser beam and fly away. And ever since then the little brother has slept in the top bunk.

Armature: Never underestimate anyone.

The story takes place in a bedroom at night.

The obstacle that the older brother has to overcome is to realize that size and courage are not correlated.  He overcomes this obstacle.

The story should be presented as animated film because it will be the best format to watch the battle with the spaceship.

It is important for this story to be told to remind people that, even though it may not be obvious to them, everybody has something to contribute to society.

Pie a la Bang (incorporating feedback)

1) Once upon a time there was a chef who loved fireworks.
2) He would cook meals for his friends. and impress them by incorporating fireworks.
3) One year, his friends convinced him to hold a 4th of July Barbeque for everyone.
4) To prepare for the barbeque he stocked up his house with food and fireworks, intending to impress everyone there.
5)  On the day of the BBQ, as he brought out each coarse, he would get increasingly enthusiastic responses, which made him add more pyrotechnics to each course.
6) Finally, he made one too big, and stray sparks lit the stockpiled fireworks, and sent his house rocketing off into the distance.
7) Ever since, he has been careful to use black powder in moderation in his recipes.

Armature: There can be too much of a good thing.

This story takes place in modern times in an average American town.  The chef  overcomes his own need to always impress those around him.  This should be presented as an animated film because it is easier to make spectacular food fireworks in an animated medium.  Also, having the chef's house blow up in an animated film is funny, where-as in a live action film it would be scary and difficult.  This story illustrates how even good things should be taken in moderation, and important message for the over-eating, super-disposable modern American life.

Pie a la Bang (2 character, indoor set)

1) Once upon a time there was a chef-in-training who loved fireworks.
2) His signature was to incorporate fireworks into the meals.
3) It becomes time for the final test, and the chef-in-training will have to prepare a meal for the master chef to demonstrate his skills.
4) To prepare for the test, the chef in training is stocked up with his favorite ingredients and fireworks.
5) The day of the test, the master-chef would show delight at the fireworks in each course, encouraging the chef-in-training to increase the explosives for the next dish.
6) Finally, he made one too big, and stray sparks lit the stockpiled fireworks, blowing up the kitchen and angering the master-chef who gives the trainee failing marks.
7) The next test around, he limits the fireworks and passes his test with flying colors, and ever since, he has been careful to use black powder in moderation in his recipes.

This story takes place in a student kitchen with a serving bar.  The chef  overcomes his lack of restraint in his .  This should be presented as an animated film because it is easier to make spectacular food fireworks in an animated medium.  Also, having the  explosion within the kitchen an animated film is funny, where-as in a live action film it would simply kill everyone.  This story illustrates how even good things should be taken in moderation, and important message for the over-eating, super-disposable modern American life.

A Warm Place to Sleep (incorporating feedback)

1) Once upon a time there was an iguana who lived in a park in Florida.
2) All was not easy for this iguana, because sometimes it was just a tad too cold in the park.  Also, the iguana was afraid of dogs, and would run up a tree anytime one came by.
3) One day a man came by and captured the iguana to take home as a second pet in addition to the dog he already had at home.
4) Afraid of the dog, the iguana would climb anything it could in the house to get up high.
5) Dejected, the puppy curls up in a sunny spot on the floor and goes to sleep.
6) Eventually, the iguana sneaks down and finds a warm spot to go to sleep, which, unbeknownst to the iguana, is the dog.  7) The iguana found the dog so warm and comfortable to sleep with, that ever since the iguana will seek out the dog for companionship instead of running away.

Armature: Don't judge based on appearances.

This story takes place in a city park and a home. By overcoming its fear of dogs, the iguana finds a good home with a warm place to sleep.  This should be presented as an animated film because iguanas are near impossible to train.  This is an important story to tell because it shows that the world is not always as scary as it seems.

A Warm Place to Sleep (2 character, indoor set)

1) Once upon a time there was a pet iguana who would lay in the sunny patches of the floor during the day.
2) All was not easy for this iguana, because this apartment was in a place where it snowed a lot, and often a draft would blow under the door, making the floor cold.
3) One day, the owner adopted a new dog.
4) Afraid of the dog, the iguana would climb anything it could in the house to get up high and away for the puppy.
5) Dejected, the puppy curls up in a sunny spot on the floor and goes to sleep.
6) Eventually, the iguana looks around for the puppy and only sees the brown fluffy pillow (dog's back) in the sunny spot and comes down to lay there.
7) Even when the dog rears it's head and the iguana gives a start, after a sniff (lick) the iguana lays back down, and the dog pants happily about it's new friend.

Armature: Don't judge based on appearances.

This story takes place in the living room of an average house.  By overcoming its fear of dogs, the iguana finds a good home with a warm place to sleep.  This should be presented as an animated film because iguanas are near impossible to train.  This is an important story to tell because it shows that the world is not always as scary as it seems.

This story takes place in Medieval times in an enchanted forest. The main character must overcome his own past cruelty, and his new-found reduced stature.  This story is best served by an animated medium, as animation lends itself better to magic and anthropomorphized animals.  This story is important because it can help remind people that even when you have power, it's important to make friends instead of enemies.
