I used 3 different image for my final artifact.
The background image is a picture of UW campus, and the other two are pasted into the foreground.
    Contours made with iScissor.

Using the iScissor tool, I selected the regions I wanted from the two original foreground pictures.
    Masks made with iScissor.

After creating the contours with iScissor.exe I saved the images as masks.

Even though I had some of the gaps between the penguins feet cut out with the scissor tool,
they didn't show up as black in the mask so I had to use Photoshop afterwards to fix it.
    Final Image.

First I fit the backpack on one of the penguins by resizing it and rotating
it so that it looked more natural. I used clone stamp and the eraser tool
to fit the penguins wing above the pack and to extend the lower part of the backpack strap.

Then I merged the backpack layer with the penguins.

I then added the penguins to the background image and sized them down using the Transform tool so they would look about the right size.
Finally I added some gaussian noise to make the penguins look more natural, and scaled the brightness down to adjust for the flat light.

Done! Hopefully these new students get used to the rain.
