I found this shot of The Who in concert and I noticed that Pete Townshend's jump along with his facial expression appeared as though he'd just kicked something. Roger Daltrey's facial expression looked pained, as though something had just struck his face. Another search yielded the image on the right, off soccer ball striking the face of the hapless individual in yellow.

Using iScissors, I cut out a mask of the soccerball

To make this image I:

Used Photohop to open the image of the soccer players. Then, I used a mask layer with the soccer ball mask to isolate the ball and then convert it to grayscale.

Opened the image of The Who and then copied the soccer ball into the image.

Using the "free transform tool", I made the soccer ball small enough to look reasonably proportioned next to Roger Daltrey.

I applied the "motion blur" effect to the ball to make it look as though it was moving leftward.
