Original Images
Image of Eve and Wall-E from Pixar's film Wall-E.
Image of Google's Android Ice Cream Sandwich lawn statue.
Image of an Android snowman figurine.
An image of a snow road sign.
Image of snow used as the background for the final image.
Masks made with iScissor.
First, I created a mask in iScissors to cut out Wall-E.
Then, I generated a mask for the Android Ice Cream Sandwich statue.
At this point, I created a separate mask for Eve using iScissors.
Then, I cut out the last robot, the android snowman figurine.
Then, I used the iScissors tool to create a mask for the snow road sign.
Finally, I created a mask using a portion of the background snowscape image to provide better blending between the background snow and the ice cream sandwich robot.
Final Image.

To arrive at my final image I did the following steps using GIMP and the filter/brush selection features of my iScissors tool:

  • Step 1: I used GIMP to apply the generated masks from iScissors to obtain background free robots (and the snow sign).
  • Step 2: I moved all individual images into one composite image. During this step I scaled and rotated a few of the individual images (Eve and the Android snowman in particular).
  • Step 3: I added one more mask, the background snow mask, to provide further blending of the Ice Cream Sandwich Android into the snowy landscape.
  • Step 4: I used the filter and brush selection tools to lighten the snowman android and to smoothen the edges of all of the robots.
