Overview

For the Kaidan head panorama, we tried to have a "surfeit of Antons". The handheld image was taken nearby.

In general, everything worked pretty well -- Jeff was surprised, in fact, at how well his Sony DSC-W290 handheld camera worked with this project. Unfortunately, the Kaidan mount tends to lean a little bit in unpredictable directions when rotated, causing strange offsets. Also, the camera battery died on the last image, so we couldn't take another image to eliminate the weird gap that you see in the fountain 360° viewer.

Our executables work as documented, except the Features matchFeatures command takes an extra parameter that indicates the minimum Harris score. That way, you can tune the Harris score to adjust the number of features. A higher Harris score means fewer features will be detected, which means feature matching might go more quickly, yet the resulting match might not be as good.

We tried to get in Mt. Rainier, the CSE building and the fountain. The picture below is what our solution produced.

Here's another panorama taken with a Sony DSC-W290 handheld camera on a concrete slab in the middle of the field southeast of Drumheller Fountain:
