Step 0:

Obtain the necessary images.

Step 1:

Open up the first image with the iScissors application and create a mask of the head.
|

|
Step 2:
|
Open the original image, Apply the mask we created and then increase the brightness of the image.
|

Step 3:
|
Open the original image again in a seperate window and adjust the color balance until you receive a washed out image as below.

Step 4:
|
Copy the washed out image ontop of our first image and set the blending option to Luminosity.

Step 5:

Create a new Layer and use the paint bucket to color it black. Then set its blending option to Color Burn.

Step 6:

Create a new Layer and use the paint bucket to color it a dark blue. Then set its blending option to Darken.

Step 7:
|
Create a new Layer and use the paint bucket to color it the same color as the figure in the ipod image. Set the blending option to Lighten.

Step 8:
|
Now resize the image and copy the head to our ipod commercial image.
|

Step 9:
|
Now we need the headphones to appear in front of the head, so open up the ipod image with iScissors and create a mask of the headphones.
|

|
|
|
Step 10:
|
Use the mask to select the headphones and copy to a new layer in front of our head. Now we can touch up the image by getting rid of the compression artifacts and using the blur tool to smooth out the silhouette of the head. We are now finished, this is the final result.
