According to the EPA, most Americans spend 87% of their time at home. The issue is, the air we breathe can have major effects on our health, especially for those with allergies triggered by air pollutants; and even if someone is aware and concerned about their air quality, they are unaware what actions to take to improve it.
Our solution is QuaLights, a 2-part mobile app and physical device system that will help users track the status of the air in their home in addition to offering resources for education on air irritants. The light strip on the device will light up different colors based on what air irritant it detected in the room it sits in so that users can be notified of any changes in air quality even without looking at their phone. Within the app, users can personalize which air pollutants they want to track, access monthly air quality reports, track notifications and also learn actions to improve the air quality in their home.
