Volunteers are the primary social contact for 65% of elderly clients who recieve meal deliveries. Many clients rely on template support services to meet basic needs. Clients may feel disempowered by a process over which they have no control and intimidated by automated systems. Furthermore, volunteers lack organizational tools and service organizations lack ways to gather aggregate feedback.
Elderly clients are unable to provide feedback about quality of service or special dietary needs
Volunteers would benefit from an organizational tool to collect client information in one place
Service organizations lack the means to gather information about health care needs and diet restrictions
We provide a quick and easy way for clients to voice their opinion and note their needs
Volunteers can view a profile for every client and an overview for their route
Service organizations can receive up-to-date information for each client from the volunteer

We had gathered our preliminary research and had the beginnings of a design taking shape. By meeting with amazing people we were able to clarify our goals.
After designing our initial prototype, we took it into the real world. We simulated scenarios in which it would be used and asked those with experience how it could be improved.
In the end, we had to go through several iterations before arriving at one that was both beautiful and functional. When we got there, it was great to see what our small idea had become.
Now, finally, we are bringing our polished design to you. Feel free to peruse and take a look at what we are proud to have learned in these past several weeks.
