Welcome to the Plantr Interactive Prototype. Plantr is a new app that
helps you take care of your plants.
Using this prototype, you will
perform a series of three tasks related to plan care and Plantr will help
you along the way.
Since we are still in the prototype stage, you
will not be able to type data into text boxes. Instead, you should simply
click or tap where the text should go, and it will be automatically filled
in.
Note that if you need to scroll, you can click and drag to move
downward.
To continue,
click on the Task 1 tab and then click the "Begin Task 1" Button.
In this task, you will add a new plant to Plantr so you can track it. If you haven't already, click the "Begin Task 1" button to the left.
- First you will see this home screen. This is where you will always start when you open Plantr. Since we want to add a new plant, we have go to the "My Plants" tab.
- Next, click the add button at the top of the screen.
- Now give your new plant the nickname Johnny by clicking next to the label for Nickname.
- Since Johnny is in the living room, we should make sure that we can remember that. Click on the label for Location to fill it in.
- In order to give you care information tailored to your specific plant, Plantr uses a database of care information for a varierty of different plants.
Let Plantr know what kind of plant you have by clicking on "Choose a Species".
- Click in the search bar to search for your plant's species, specifically a Cactus
- Select the only result, Barrel Cactus.
For simplicity, we will just use the default photo for our plant. In future versions, Plantr will allow you to take a photo of your plant or choose from a variety of included photos.
- Plantr uses a sensor to gather data about your plant's moisture and light levels. For this prototype, pretend that the sensor you want is nearby and click the "Connect" button. (Hint: you may need to scroll down to access this and other options).
- Since you are now a proud new plant owner, click the facebook logo to share your new plant with your facebook friends.
- Finally, Press the done button so that Plantr saves and starts tracking your new plant.
Task 3 shows you Plantr's features that can help you when something is wrong with your beloved plant.
In this example, Coma, your orchid, is having greying leaves.
- First click on My Plants.
- Next, select your plant Coma.
- Now, choose whether to diagnose the problem or alternatively find an expert to talk to or visit.
- Through either of the two options, you find out the problem with your beloved plant and receive instructions to nurse it back to health.
This concludes the Plantr interactive prototype. Click on the grey boarder to close this popup.
