It is 11:00pm and you are leaving the library to go home. As you are packing up, you receive a text from the UWPD about a crime that has recently occurred in the University District area. You don't want to walk home by yourself, so find a friend to walk home with. Find the location of your nearest friend and call him. 1. Starting from the phone's main screen, click on the Husky Crime Guide icon. 2. Click on the Find Friends icon. 3. Select the checkbox next to "Jake". 4. Click on the "Map" button. 5. Click on the "Call" button.
Task 2
It is 8:30pm and you are finally leaving the library to go home. Before leaving the library you want to check you phone for any Timely Warnings and also consult the Emergency Blue Light map to gain more awareness of your surroundings as you walk home. Find the locations of the Emergency Blue Lights and view the location of the most recent Timely Warning. 1. Starting from the phone's main screen, click on the Husky Crime Guide icon. 2. Click on the UW Resources icon. 3. Click on Emergency Blue Lights. 4. Click on the Husky Crime Guide logo to go back to the main menu. 5. Click on Crime reports. 6. Select the checkbox next to "Bank Robbery". 7. Click on "Map".
Task 3
You were thinking of finding an apartment around the University Village area, however you want to make sure that the area is a safe place to live. Try to identify a safer part of the University District area. You want to see recent crimes, so view all crimes that have occured in the last two months. You are only interested in some types of crimes, so only view thefts, burglaries, and assaults. You are interested in the University Village, so zoom in and explore . 1. Starting from the phone's main screen, click on the Husky Crime Guide icon. 2. Click on the Map icon. 3. Click on Filter. 4. Select "Last Two Months" from the dropdown menu. 5. Click on all crime types other than thefts, burglaries, and assaults to de-select them. 6. Click on the Filter to hide it. 7. Double click on the map to zoom. 8. Click on the blue pin to see more details.
