Where to write project files

There is special group project space in the directory
/projects/instr/07sp/cse481f
that is not subject to the quotas imposed on student home directories. I have created a subdirectory for each team in this directory.

A clustering of homologous genes

A file with an initial clustering of homologous genes has been installed on the Instructional Lab Linux systems and the Instructional Project machines (kiska and umnak). You can find this file at
/projects/cse/courses/cse481f/07sp/Clusters.bcp
The cluster ID is given in the line with keyword ENTRY. The list of cluster proteins begins with the keyword PROTEINS. Following that word is one line per protein. The 8-9 digit number in the second field of each line is the PID (protein ID) that MicroFootPrinter needs. The list of proteins is terminated with the line ////.

You can find some documentation on this clustering at the NCBI FTP site.
