    Homework Policies

There will be about 8 homework assignments. For each assignment you will turn in electronically a set of answers to the questions and/or whatever code you have written.

All assignments are due at 11:59 p.m. No late assignments will be accepted unless there is some extraordinary reason beyond your control and you make arrangements with me before class. Email me at lucasm@cs.washington.edu.

Grading

Here's how your grade will be computed:

  • Homework: 50%
  • Midterm: 25%
  • Final exam: 25%
It will not be possible to take the midterm or final exam at any other time besides when it is given to the full class, so please ensure that you do not have any conflicts.

Discussing vs. Cheating

You may discuss the homework problems with your classmates but you must:

  1. Write up the solutions yourself and you should completely understand everything you write down.
  2. Include a comment at the top of your homework with the names of the students you worked with.
Unattributed copying of somebody else's work is plagiarism.

The University expects that you will do your own work. See this discussion of Academic Honesty: Cheating and Plagiarism for more information.
