CSE 413 Winter 2001 -- Assignments & Exams

Assignment 1. Due Tue 1/16 (electronic); Wed 1/17 (paper). A sample solution is available..
Assignment 2. Electronic turnin by Tuesday, 1/23 at 10:00 pm. Paperwork due at the beginning of class the next day.
Assignment 3. Java project. Due dates:
- Project proposal: Fri. 1/26 (if possible), Mon. 1/29 (if necessary)
- Class design: Wed. 1/31
- Project: Tuesday, 2/6 at 10:00 pm (electronic)
- Receipt and report: Wed. 2/7.
Compiler Project. For these assignments, programming parts are due electronically at 10 pm Tuesday night; turnin receipt, test output, and written problems (if any) are due in class the next day.

The D programming language definition
Assignment 4 (regular expressions warmup; compiler I/O). Due Tue/Wed, Feb 13/14. A sample solution to the written problems is available.
Assignment 5 (context free grammar warmup; scanner). Due Tue/Wed, Feb. 20/21. A sample solution for the required written problems is available.
Assignment 6 (parser). Due Tue/Wed, Feb. 27/28.
Assignment 7 (code generation). Due Thur/Fri, March 8/9.
A small collection of D test programs is available. Additional contributions are welcome.
Here are copies of the basic MASM files. These would normally be installed in c:\masm611\bin
    ml.exe - the assembler itself
    ml.err - a text file used by ml.exe to generate error messages
    new-vars.bat - a batch file that you can use to set up search paths for the assembler
