Winter 2004, CSE 403 - Software Engineering

Final exam

Due: March 15, 8:30am
Format: At most four pages (sides) of 8.5 x 11 paper.

The final exam will be a take-home essay. It must be handed in, as a printed version, at the beginning of the final exam period.  The remainder of the final exam period will be used as part of the course, so plan on being there, too. 

The essay should answer the following questions:

• What did you learn? Explain.
• What aspect of teamwork surprised you the most? Explain.
• What aspect of projects surprised you the most? Explain.

• Describe your current assessment of what a “software engineer” does, and how?

• From the customer’s point of view what value did you add to this project? Explain.

Higher grades will be given for:

• answers that are:
  • well written ( structure, grammar, reasoning)
  • insightful
  • reasonable
  • respectful
  • well grounded
  • humorous
• more examples

Note: none of the above grading criteria should be construed to encourage excess verbiage.

I reserve the write to modify these questions before March 8.
