CSE 401: Compilers Fall 2001 (Henry)
(Revision $Revision: 1.3 $)
MidTerm
Midterm Friday, November 2, 2001
-
Read ASU 4.5.
-
Read ASU 4.7 up to page 227.
-
Read ASU 3.5 (lex) and 4.9 (yacc).
-
You should now know enough not to be too confused
by most of the material in ASU Chapters 1 and 2.
You have not yet seen in 401
(although you may have seen this in other classes)
the way to unambiguously represent expressions in postfix or in prefix,
so you can skip material in these chapters
on postfix expression code generation,
and evaluation of expressions using stacks.
Also, you can skim the C code that they have for their
little compiler/translator examples, since you have
your own C code to understand.
-
You should be able to understand the material
in ASU Chapter 11, which covers compiler engineering
in a slightly different light than how I talked about
it in the first few lectures of this quarter.
