Getting Help

If you have a general question that other students could potentially benefit from, considering posting on Ed. On Ed, you can also set your questions to private or anonymous as you see appropriate.

For logistical questions (such as extenuating circumstances and DRS accomodations), we ask that you post privately on Ed so the whole staff can respond. For sensitive situations, you can also email Adrian directly if you would feel more comfortable.

We are often available at other times by appointment, and we encourage you to schedule 1:1 appointments whenever you want to talk about concepts, grades, internships, or anything else.

Hi, I’m Adrian! I’m so excited starting my first year here as a new assistant teaching professor at the Allen School at UW and am excited to have you all in CSE 391! I have a B.S. in Computer Science from UCSC (banana slugs!) and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCSD. Most of my research work surrounds computer science education, primarily understanding the struggles students face when learning computing and how instructors and universities can better support their learning.

My go-to “me” activities are running, gaming, and weightlifting (started over the summer). Some of my favorite video games include Red Dead Redemption 2, Breath of the Wild, and Civilization VI. There’s a lot besides video games I am happy to chat about, from “computer science-y” or academic stuff such as how to get involved with research or teahing to more casual things like books, fitness, or the hot new TV shows. Looking forward to working with you all this quarter!

Hey everyone! My name is Steven, and I am a senior majoring in Computer Science and Applied Math. I’m excited to be your TA for this class because it covers many cool and useful topics, and I’m looking forward to working with all of you! In my free time, I like reading manga, watching TV shows, playing video games, and, of course, sleeping! (Sleep is super important!) Feel free to drop by my office hours to discuss course topics or just to chat, and don’t hesitate to send us emails or make posts on Ed if you need help with anything. Hope you enjoy this quarter :)
