Getting Help

If you have a general question that other students could potentially benefit from, considering posting on Ed. On Ed, you can also set your questions to private or anonymous as you see appropriate.

For logistical questions (such as extenuating circumstances and DRS accomodations), we ask that you post privately on Ed so the whole staff can respond. For sensitive situations, you can also email Ryan directly if you would feel more comfortable.

We are often available at other times by appointment, and we encourage you to schedule 1:1 appointments whenever you want to talk about concepts, grades, internships, or anything else.

You can find Zoom links for CSE 391 office hours using our general Zoom instructions.

I’m Ryan! I did my undergrad and masters at UW, and am now an assistant teaching professor in the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering. My masters work was in the database group with Magda Balazinska and I’ve also worked in the UW eScience Institute.

Originally I got my undergraduate degree and astronomy and physics, and began working on research related to both databases and astronomy before going to grad school. I’m also interested in data management and data science and teach CSE 344, 444, and 180 on those topics!

Hi! I am Wei Wu, you can also call me Ellen :D I am a rising senior in Computer Science, and I love computer vision and software engineering the most!

I lived most of my life in Guangzhou, China, and I came to UW for studying in 2019. I plan to have a CS master’s after I graduate from UW. Besides studying CS, I am a digital(game) artist, and I plan to make paintings for companies like Riot or Blizzard in the future. I also love playing tennis, hiking, and playing with cats/dogs!

I am super excited to TA for CSE391 this summer, feel free to ask me any questions you have after lecture/during my office hours!
