Course Goals

This class is designed to help student navigate 311, beginning as a major in computer science, and giving space to learn and practice skills that will be essential as they progress through later 300 and 400 level computer science courses. Students will be encouraged to use all of the CSE resources available to them, including 311 instructors, 311 section, and 311 office hours.

Note that this course will NOT be a space for help specifically on the 311 homeworks, in fact no questions directly about the assignments will be answered during class time. Instead students will be practicing concepts that help them with their homework.

Week 1

Goals:

• Introduction to workshop, syllabus, what is expected
• Exposure to Latex
• Depending on time, exposure to circuits or problems to simulate 311 workshop problem workshop etiquette.
