I am a proud 206-Seattle local where the mountains, evergreen trees and rainy seasons have always been my home. I received my bachelor's degree from the University of Washington in American Ethnic Studies and my master's degree in education at Seattle University. As a yonsei fourth generation Japanese American woman, granddaughter of Executive Order 9066 internees, first-generation college student, and women's youth basketball coach, I draw upon my personal and professional experiences in working with students. I joined the Allen School in October 2018 and have loved supporting students in pursuing their CS endeavors. I enjoy playing, watching and coaching basketball (BRING BACK THE SONICS), snuggling with my two cats (Kaelo and Miyu), and experiencing all of life's adventures with my partner.

I grew up about 10 minutes away from UW and love Seattle, rain and all. I received my undergrad degree from UW in CS, and I'm currently working towards a Master's degree with a focus on education. In my free time, I like to do a lot of different things, all of which I enjoy more if I get to do them with my friends and family (not during COVID-19 of course). For starters, I love to garden, cook, and bake goodies. I also love spending time outside, running, hiking, biking, skiing, and seeing friends and family around Seattle (again, in non-COVID-19 times). I am super excited to have the opportunity to be a part of 390B this quarter and to hopefully get to know all of you. Please drop by my office hours and say hello! I'm happy to answer 390B questions, general UW/CSE questions, and/or chat about anything else.

I live in Everett and I grew up in Bellingham, just a little further north of Seattle. I’m hoping to graduate in 2022 with a bachelor’s in CS and a minor in American Indian Studies. I love to volunteer - most recently online for Seattle Public Schools as a tech support to parents and at the U-District food bank. Plants and gardening are my focus outside of school, as well as camping, backpacking, and above all else, my dog Dyno. I’m really looking forward to building relationships with students this quarter and hopefully becoming someone they can rely on and trust in the Allen School.

Heya! It’s nice meeting you! I have lived in the outskirts of Seattle my entire life—first in Redmond, then in Sammamish, and I just recently moved to Kirkland. I can’t get enough of the lush evergreen forests and refreshing rain here! I was actually looking to attend an out-of-state college post high school, but long story short, I ended up at UW. And I couldn’t be more grateful to be staying close to family, growing in the supportive UW community, getting to know some incredible individuals along the way, and working with you all in 390B this quarter! I will be graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering this quarter and pursuing a master’s degree in CS in the following years, where I’m looking forward to extending my love for teaching and working with students. My primary hobbies are playing badminton (I just learned to string badminton rackets recently!), interacting with wildlife in various ways, and playing with my dog (she’s a Bichon Poodle named Nemo) and turtle (he’s a red-eared slider turtle named Speedy)—they’d both love to meet you over Zoom! This is my first time being a TA for CSE 390B, and I am absolutely stoked to share my excitement for this class with you!
