Deadline Extension for HW4

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the oversight in the HW4 specification. Due to the accidental inclusion of the “under construction” message, some of you were unable to begin the assignment on Friday as intended. In light of this situation, we have decided to extend the deadline by one day. The new deadline for HW4 is now Saturday at 11:59 PM instead of Friday at 11:59 PM. You can still use up to three free late days on this homework. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Please fill out the Midterm Evaluation!

We value your feedback and want to hear about your learning experience so far! As we reach the midpoint of the quarter, we kindly ask you to fill out the midterm evaluation. Your input is crucial in shaping the course and ensuring we provide the best learning environment for everyone.

The evaluation survey can be accessed through this link: https://uw.iasystem.org/survey/277390.

It will only take a few minutes, and all responses will remain anonymous. Your honest and constructive feedback is greatly appreciated. If as a class we can reach a 60% response rate, I will give everyone bonus participation points 🚀

Seaside Connection Issue

Hello there!

Some of you may notice a connection issue with the seaside servers. I have contacted the support@cs people, but they have not gotten back to me yet. In this case, I will extend the deadline for hw1 for 24 hours for this situation. So, instead of Friday at 11:59 pm, the hw1 will be due on Saturday at 11:59 pm. You can still use up to three late days for this homework.

Sorry for the situation, and I will post updates on Ed once I hear back from the support team.

Before Quarter

Hi there!

Welcome to the Summer 2023 offering of CSE 374! This is an early preview of what the course will look like this summer that we are publishing now as you prepare for summer quarter. We haven’t quite launched all aspects of the course yet, so don’t be surprised if you don’t have access to everything quite yet. Things that you will eventually get access to:

  • Ed discussion board / Gradescope / Canvas: I’ll send a welcome email when you are added to these.
  • GitLab: Will be available as we talk about Git in around the third week.

In the meantime, feel free to read over the syllabus to learn more about how the course will work. I’ll also be sending a welcome email soon (once I get you all access to Ed) that explains some of these policies and next steps. We’ll also talk about course policies on the first day! If you have any questions, feel free to post them on the message board (once you get access).
