Examples:

Let S = { a, b, c }

B1 = { (a, b), (c, b), (c, c) } is a binary relation on S.

B2 = { (a, a), (b, b), (c, c) } is a binary relation on S. It happens to be reflexive.

B3 = { } is a binary relation on S.

It happens to be empty.
