Asking Questions & Getting Help

It is very important to us that you succeed in CSE 369! Outside of lectures and labs, there are several ways to ask questions or discuss course issues:

  1. Visit labs and office hours! See the Weekly Calendar for current availability, noting that these will all be run in a hybrid fashion (in-person AND virtual).
  2. Make a public post about course content on the , where they benefit the whole class. This also allows other students to answer your question so can receive a faster response. This is the best way of asking questions about class-related topics.
  3. Make a private post to just the course staff on the with any issues you would prefer to discuss privately or questions that involve solutions or partial solutions for ongoing assignments.
  4. Request a 1-on-1 via a private post on the . If you feel like you need extra time, can't make it to office hours, or want to discuss something privately, please feel free to request a 1-on-1 from the staff!
  5. Send to the course staff. The instructor will try to address the issue and share it with others only as appropriate, but will not have a way to reply to you without addressing the whole class.

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP? WHAT WAS YOUR ACADEMIC PATH?
- I grew up in Lagos, Nigeria, though I was born in Assam, India. When I was 3, my family moved to Nigeria for my dad’s work, and I spent most of my childhood and teenage years there. I lived in Nigeria until I was 16, completing up to 10th grade, before moving back to India during COVID to finish high school. Now, I’m a junior at UW, pursuing Computer Engineering!

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HOBBIES, TALENTS, AND SKILLS?
- Some of my hobbies include learning languages—not programming languages, but spoken ones :) I’m committed to maintaining my DuoLingo streak! Apart from that, I also really love traveling and photography!

HAVE YOU DONE OR EXPERIENCED ANYTHING REMARKABLE OR MEMORABLE?
- One of my most memorable experiences was mentoring underprivileged kids during my final year of high school, a commitment I continued for three years. Teaching them programming and math from scratch was challenging, but seeing their growth and smiles made it incredibly rewarding. Watching them now develop their own programs fills me with immense pride and joy!

WHAT COMMITMENTS WILL BE CONSUMING YOUR CYCLES THIS QUARTER?
- I am enrolled in CSE 446, CSE 480, CSE 390R, MKTG 305 and Drama 251. Along with that I will be working at the MILL (McCarty Innovation and Learning Lab) and TAing this class.

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP? WHAT WAS YOUR ACADEMIC PATH?
- I grew up a whole 25 minutes away in Redmond, Washington. I just finished my undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering last spring, and I am now finishing up the master’s portion of the BS/MS!

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HOBBIES, TALENTS, AND SKILLS?
- I love to do ceramics and learned to throw on the wheel last winter! I spend most of my free time at the ceramics studio, but I also enjoy crocheting, biking, and learning songs on my guitar.

HAVE YOU DONE OR EXPERIENCED ANYTHING REMARKABLE OR MEMORABLE?
- Most recently, I got to kayak through bioluminescence in Puerto Rico. I didn’t expect it to look so magical!

WHAT COMMITMENTS WILL BE CONSUMING YOUR CYCLES THIS QUARTER?
- CSE 546 (ML), CSE 527 (Computational Biology), and research in the Sensor Systems lab.

WHERE DID YOU GROW UP? WHAT WAS YOUR ACADEMIC PATH?
- I grew up in Shanghai, China. Following my middle school graduation, my family and I immigrated to the United States, where I began my high school education in Shoreline, Washington. I plan to pursue further studies in computer engineering by attending graduate school.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HOBBIES, TALENTS, AND SKILLS?
- Some of my hobbies include playing on the Nintendo Switch, with The Legend of Zelda being my favorite game; doing some random sketching; and watching video game live streams.

HAVE YOU DONE OR EXPERIENCED ANYTHING REMARKABLE OR MEMORABLE?
- I am particularly proud of completing the final project for my autonomous robotics class (CSE 478) last quarter, which involved making our car autonomously drive from one end of the CSE basement hallway to the other. It was so memorable because our group spent literally 20 hours tuning the parameters, and it finally got to work.

WHAT COMMITMENTS WILL BE CONSUMING YOUR CYCLES THIS QUARTER?
- I am enrolled in 3 three STEM classes: CSE 371, CSE 452, and ME 123 (intro to CAD), and TAing for this class. I am also actively seeking research opportunities.
