\===============================/
WHERE DID YOU GROW UP? WHAT WAS YOUR ACADEMIC PATH?

I grew up about two hours north of Seattle, but have lived short-term in
a few different places around Europe and Asia, and lived in Alaska for a
few years when I was younger.

I came to UW with the intention of studying business and political science,
but switched to CS after taking intro and really enjoying it. I’m now in
my senior year and will continue with the BS/MS program next year.

HOW MUCH PROGRAMMING HAVE YOU DONE (& WHAT LANGUAGES)?

I didn’t discover computer programming until halfway through my first year
at UW. Most of my experience has been in Java, both at work and at school,
as well as Python and PHP during internships.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HOBBIES, TALENTS, AND SKILLS?

I like to travel to meet new people and to learn (human) languages.
Most recently, I spent the winter studying Chinese in Taiwan, and
spent the last 2 weeks of this summer backpacking around Colombia
speaking Spanish. I’m also into skateboarding and bouldering when I have some free time.

HAVE YOU DONE ANYTHING REMARKABLE? HAS ANYTHING MEMORABLE HAPPENED TO YOU?

A lot of traveling. I’ve spent most breaks from school outside of the country
and am planning for a trip to Argentina and Chile at the end of this quarter.
I have a few stories but they’re better told in person.

WHAT COMMITMENTS WILL BE CONSUMING YOUR CYCLES THIS QUARTER?
