What version of the JDK does the tutorial reflect?
Except where otherwise noted,
this tutorial reflects
the API distributed in the 1.0.2 Java Developers Kit (JDK).
We're in the process of adding notes
to reflect the JDK 1.1 release.

are dedicated to new 1.1 features,
such as the new native methods interface,

and the new AWT event system.
