THE LONELY POINTER -------------------- Once upon a time, in the soft, green, and hilly meadows of the stack, there lived a pointer. This pointer had many friends, and all his friends pointed to him and played with him. He was a very happy pointer. One day, the Great Wizard of the Memory Allocation Module came to the meadows. All the pointers dreamed of the day the Great Wizard would come and free them to roam in a wonderful new land. The pointers of the meadow were very excited to see the Great Wizard. One by one, the Great Wizard gave freedom to all of this pointer's friends. But the Great Wizard never came for the poor pointer. The poor pointer was left all alone, with no other pointers to point to him and play with him. He became a very lonely pointer. Soon afterwards, the keeper of the meadow, val Grind, came to search for any lonely pointers. val Grind found the poor, lonely pointer, and notified the authorities of his existence. But val Grind did not help the poor, lonely pointer find a new home. The poor, lonely pointer was left alone in the meadow until it was finally burned down by the Operating System when it cleared the process virtual memory. It died a horrible death. The End. Don't make your pointers lonely.
