Overview¶
Peer feedback is due by Sunday 3/15 at 11:59 pm.
This part of the final project or portfolio is to be completed individually, even if you worked with a group. There are two components to this final deliverable, with the following aims:
- To provide you a chance to reflect back on your experience on the project to help you think about what went well and how you might want to tackle a similar project in the future.
- To give your classmates feedback on their projects.
There will be two Gradescope assignments, one for each aim. You are being graded on the quality of your reflection and how much thought you put into it. There are no correct answers for these questions.
Part A: Presentation Feedback¶
Presentation feedback will be given as part of the Section 10 Assignment, so it is important that you fill this out! Prior to section that day, you will be assigned 2-3 groups to provide feedback for. We will use a modified version of the “I Like, I Wish, What If” framework that we have used in the THA peer reviews to give feedback for your peers’ presentation.
All feedback you provide to your peers is “public”. In other words, we will send those peers your comments verbatim, but your name will not be shared so your feedback will be anonymous to them. When leaving feedback, try to stay positive and encouraging! Everyone worked really hard on their projects and portfolios, and we want to respect the work they put in.
There is a small chance that not every presentation that you are assigned will present in section! If one of your presentations is absent, you may self-select a different presentation to give feedback for. Your TAs will direct you if this happens!
Part B: Personal Reflection¶
The second part of the Peer Feedback will be looking back at your own and/or your teammates’ work. These are open-ended questions that are assessed for thoughtful completion rather than any right or wrong answers. The full details and questions can be found in the specific Gradescope assignment, but here are the highlights.
Individual Submissions (Everyone)¶
For this part of the final project or portfolio, you will be asked to reflect on how you completed this work. You will be asked to reflect on the following:
- What worked well for you?
- What didn’t work so well?
- What motivated you to choose the project, or the portfolio? Would you consider working on the other option in the future, or with a group?
Group Submissions (Project Only)¶
Solo Submissions
If you worked alone on the project, or you worked on the portfolio, please enter “N/A” on these questions in Gradescope.
If you worked in a group on the final project, you will see two additional questions concerning project group dynamics. The intent here is for you to give honest and helpful feedback to your teammates about working with them. The course staff will deliver the public feedback to the respective groupmates. The “confidential” feedback is for anything that you might not want to publicly share with your teammate(s) that might give the course staff a better understanding of how your group worked together. We will not share any confidential feedback with your teammate(s).
Note: We do use the group feedback to determine if there was a major imbalance in group members working on the project, and may adjust the score for a group member who did not participate equitably. This is not meant to be stressful! We are just trying to avoid the situation of group members receiving credit for work they did not contribute equitably to. Don’t be afraid about being honest in your feedback (public or confidential) since this is only a minor portion of the grade.
Submission¶
The Presentation Feedback will be given as part of the Section 10 Assignment.
The Peer Feedback will be found in a separate Gradescope assignment.
BE SURE TO COMPLETE BOTH ASSIGNMENTS
