Basics of the Game

Welcome to the PokeBattle simulator! This simulator gives the player the choice to start with any of the first gen starter pokemon, including pikachu.

Once a starter pokemon has been chosen, the opponent's pokemon will be chosen randomly from the same pokemon available to the player. During the pokemon battle, the player will be able to choose which move their pokemon makes. Keep in mind that each pokemon has set base stats, meaning that some pokemon may have a higher/lower attack or defense, which affects how strong their attack is or how hard they get hit by another pokemon's attack.

Also keep in mind that the move "Growl" will lower the opponent's attack, while "Tail Whip" will lower the opponent's defense. Effects of these moves will last for 3 turns for this game. You are allowed to use these stat-affecting moves up to 3 times, and then you will have to wait until one of them wears off (remember, each one lasts only 3 turns).

Another thing to keep in mind is that a pokemon's element (electric, water, grass, fire) affects its attacks and how much damage it takes from the opponent's attacks. Fire is weak to water, which is weak to grass, which is weak to fire. Electric is strong against water and weak against grass. This affects how strong (or weak) an attack is during a battle.
