PRINCESS MONONOKE

This was the first anime film that I ever watched and I was blown away. I went in expecting a cartoonish children's tale but I quickly realized that this was one of the most ambitious I had ever watched, animated or not. It's a film that I find myself coming back to over and over and finding new things to appreciate about it every time.

My favorite anime movie of all time, this film completely blew away my every expectation. It appeals to all ages with its masterful blending of humor, heartfelt romance, stunning visuals, and consistently surprising narrative. This film does not go the way that you think it will and its one of the most innovative movies in years.
