Some fun facts about me!

• I studied art history in Amsterdam last summer, where I became an avid biker and museum goer (we visited over 50 of them). Ask me for NL recommendations or funny study abroad stories!
  • Poffertjes and herring have changed my life for the better :D
• Food-wise I love Xi'an street food since my family is from there! I'm also a big fan of jasmine green tea and good coffee.
  • Cafe Allegro is my favorite cafe in U District!
• NIKI is my favorite music artist, and I got to see her perform live last summer! Listen here!
• I love spending quality time with my friends, impromptu karaoke nights, weekly Trader Joe's runs, and hanging out with my cat Phoebe.

A little bit more about why I love this class...

CSE 154 has (in all honesty) been one of the most fulfilling courses I've taken at UW, and reignited my interest in programming. The "YES!!!" feeling of accomplishment you get when you refresh the page, and your webpage successfully loads (after many hours of hard work), is unbeatable!

Plus, the skills you'll gain can be applied to so many other projects outside of the class. These can open doors for cool career opportunities if that's something you want to pursue.

CSE 154 advice

• Go to class and stay caught up on lectures. They are necessary for your success! I also recommend organizing your own notes so you can quickly refer back without having to click through tons of lecture slides.
• You'll hear it often but it's true: please get started early. One of the best pieces of advice I've recieved was to read the spec ahead of time, and let it marinate, even if you can't officially start working yet. It's always better to work a few hours a day than to pull an all nighter trying to meet a deadline.
• There is value in debugging on your own first (I'm a huge fan of the rubber duck method), but it's also an important skill to know when to take a step back. Sometimes if you pause from actively working, the ah-ha moment will come faster!
• console.log statements, Chrome Dev Tools, and MDN Web Docs may become some of your best friends this quarter. Don't be afraid to utilize them!
