Code along during lecture! It helped me stay engaged, understand the details, and prep for practicing the same concepts during section.
Start early! I know every class will tell you this, but it's especially true for this one. It's always better to have an extra day to visit office hours or to experiment with implementations.
Read the full spec before beginning implementation. The specs can be long. It's worth taking 10 extra minutes to read the details before spending an hour going down the wrong path.
Re-read the spec before turning in assignments. It's easy to forget requirements as you're working on the assignment. Nothing is as frustrating as when the autograder passes, but points get lost over something else from the spec.
