howdy howdy y'all! i'm donovan and this is my ta website for the quarter! i had a different one for last quarter, but it didn't look that good so i redesigned it!
this is my first year here at UW and i'm pursuing computer science! it's my first quarter in the major and i'm really really excited to get started in the allen school!
alongside TA'ing for this course, i'm also taking CSE 311, CSE 331, CSE 351, and CSE 391. it should be a pretty fun experience hopefully!
i really really love this class because i feel like web development allows you to be creative! the skills that you learn from this course, even if they're surface-level, allow you to design pretty much whatever you want when it comes to websites, which is really cool!
my first tip for y'all is probably gonna be one that you've heard from just about everyone else: start early!!!!! these assignments can take a really long time to complete (for me, some of them took well over 10 hours to complete), and if you're the type of person who does your work slow then you'll thank yourself for starting early!
my second tip for y'all is to proofread all of your code that you write and check against the code quality guide to make sure that you're writing high quality code that conforms to the spec of whatever assignment you're working on! for me personally, i've lost numerous points that could have been avoided had i re-read the spec and compared it to my code.
my third tip for y'all is to use the WPL and the ed board! it's an extremely useful resource since it affords you quick access to the course staff, and we're all here to help so please feel free to use these resources we have for y'all!
ps: hover on the image to the right to see me suffering in the middle of last quarter
congrats on making it to the end! since you're down here, enjoy a picture of my blue squishmallow, darex. my friend gave it to me and it's super soft!!
if you're tired because of all the scrolling on my website, you should play some 154ordle! it's something that i made in the span of about 3 or 4 hours with all of the knowledge i learned in 154!
