Welcome To CSE 154!

Hi, I'm Jeff

I'm a Junior here at UW studying computer science and I am very excited to be TAing for 154 for my 3rd time. I started playing with web development in high school when I was in charge of sending out a newsletter for a club I was heavily involved with. Here's the first one I ever made. If you inspect the source code it is clear that I had no idea I was doing (all the text is in tables for some reason???) but through this course I learned all the skills I needed to understand good practices of web development and can now make cleaner, more fun web pages like this one!

Why I Keep Coming Back To 154

This is by far my favorite CSE class I've taken so far at UW. This class is much more directly applicable to industry than most other CS classes. Further, you will learn everything you will ever need to make websites for fun and, if you want to, continue your web development education independently (see my source code if you'd like to learn how I made my images act this way! It's heavily commented and has links to the sources that I learned how to do this from).

I also love the students! The #1 way to get the most out of this class is to go wild with your creative projects and make something YOU want to make. The creativity that I have seen come out of our students is unparalleled in UW CSE and it is so satisfying to see these amazing projects as a TA.
