About Me

Hello! My name is Ann Shan, and I'm currently a sophomore studying computer science. I took CSE 154 spring quarter of 2018. I TAed CSE 120 last quarter, but this will be my first time TAing 154.

General advice for 154

Really, a lot of this applies to classes in general.

• Start everything at least 2 days earlier than you think you need to. No, really.
• Please take advantage of the WPL and office hours, and don't hesitate to ask for help. We're all here to help you succeed!
• Related to above, take your creative projects seriously! This is a great opportunity to play around and learn how to do something personally interesting to you, and you'll get to keep it forever.
• Physically check off items in the spec for assignments -- don't just skim through, it's very easy to miss something or forget about things. Printing the spec is one way, or double checking requirements with other students can also help catch anything you may have missed.

• A small and very buggy text adventure game I created using processing when I TAed CSE 120 in the winter, uncreatively named There is a Dragon (not mobile friendly, sorry...).
