Some general advice for any assigment in this course: before beginning to work on it, read all the information through carefully. When you are finished and ready to turn in, read the directions again to make sure you have done everything required.
Windows 95/NT demo program is available.
Linux x86 demo program is also available, care of Eric.
Hints, tips, and corrections may be posted here as the assignment progresses (check occasionally). The most important messages will sent to the mailing list cse143-announce, so stay subscribed to that, or check the web archives. You may also find discussion of the project on the class mailing list cse143. Be careful not to post code (over a line or two) on the mailing list.
When you are finished, go to the turnin form (not yet available) and follow the instructions for turning in your files. You will get back a "receipt" on the screen, which must be printed and turned in to your TA or you will not get credit for the assignment. Note that you are not being asked to turn in any diskettes or to send anything by e-mail (this time). You can turn-in electronically as many times as you want. Only the last one is graded, and the printed receipt you turn-in must match that last electronic one exactly.
Before talking to anyone about this assignment, you may wish to review the academic conduct guidelines for the course. Keep in mind that this is to be an individual effort. You should not be looking at anyone else's code, or allowing anyone else to see yours.
Good luck, and get started early!
