Project 5: Turnin Information

CSE 143
Summer 1998

Because of several important aspects of the assignment, homework 5's turnin will be different from the turnins for previous homeworks. Please read the following information carefully to make sure you follow all instructions.
  1. Grading will be done mostly by demonstration. You will demonstrate your application to a TA (not necessarily your own TA). If you haven't yet signed up for a demonstration time, please contact your TA as soon as possible. Signup sheets should also be available in lecture on Monday. Demonstrations will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday.

  2. There is still a turned-in component to the assignment. We want to look over your code. We also want to get an executable which corresponds to that code. So for HW5, you must submit a _floppy disk_. Here are the instructions for floppy submission:

    1. On a floppy disk, place copies of all source files for your program. Also, copy the executable onto the floppy. The executable should if at all possible be runnable on the machines in the IPL. If you believe you will need to make special arrangements to demo your project, contact me or a TA immediately.

    2. Write your NAME, STUDENT ID and SECTION on the floppy. If you worked with a partner, write your partner's information on the floppy too.

    3. Give the floppy to me or a TA no later than 8:00PM, AUGUST 17TH, 1998. Floppy disks will not be accepted after that time. You can find me in my office Mondays from 10:00-11:00. Or you can submit before or after lecture. You can also submit to the head TA in the IPL during his office hours.

    4. If you are unable to submit in person, you are permitted to leave your floppy in the drop box on the first floor of Sieg. PLACE YOUR DISK IN AN ENVELOPE. On that envelope, write "CSE143 HW5" and a copy of all the information in part (b). The deadline for using the drop box is still 8:00pm sharp.

  3. For the demonstration, we will run the executable you provide on the floppy disk. Please make every effort to ensure that the executable on the floppy works.

  4. It may happen that you add cool features or get nifty stuff working after 8:00pm. If that happens, you will be permitted to demonstrate these additional features to the TA. You will not get full credit for features completed after 8:00pm, but the extra effort will be recognized. And, of course, you have a chance to show off your accomplishments!

If you have any questions or concerns about this information, let me know.
