The computing set-ups for CSE142 and CSE143 are essentially identical. See the CSE142 Computing At Home page for details. Whatever environment you use, be sure you have Java 1.4.1 or higher installed, and be sure to enable assertions.  See DrJava step 7 and BlueJ step 6 for how to do this in those environments.
