Arnold Schwarzenegger born in Thal, Austria. 
1953
At the age of 6, Arnold is inspired to become a great athlete after his father takes him to Graz to see former Olympic swimmer, Johnny Weismueller, dedicate a new swimming pool.
1960
Arnold picks up a barbell for the first time  
1961
Karl Manul, a professional bodybuilder and former Mr. Austria meets Arnold and invites him to train at the Athletic Union in Graz.
1964
Arnold's father Gustav Schwarzenegger limits Arnold's trips to the gym to only three times a week.  Anorld builds a gym at home.
1965
Arnold wins the Austrian Jr. Weightlifting Championship.  Meets his lifelong friend Franco Columbu a the competition.
1966
Schwarzenegger wins the Mr. Europe competition, Best Build Man of Europe Title, and competes in his first amatuer Mr. Universe competition.
1967
Arnold meets his boyhood idol, former Mr. Universe, Reg Park.  Arnold defeats Dennis Tinnerino to win the Amatuer Mr. Universe Competition in London.  Buys Putzinger Gym.
1968
Wins first NABBA Professional European Mr. Universe title.  Arrives in America with little more than 20 dollars and can barely speak english.  Places second in his first American Mr. Universe contest.  Is sponsored by Joe Wieder.  Wins IFBB "Mr. International" in Mexico.
1969
Arnold wins both IFFB & NABBA Mr. Universe in one weekend.  Franco Columbu joins Arnold in Venice to train at Gold's Gym.
1970
Arnold competes against Reg park in Mr. Universe, wins. Wins first of six straight "Mr. Olympia" titles.  Cast as Hercules in "Hercules in New York" as Arnold Strong.
1971
Wins second Mr. Olympia title.  Arnold's brother Meinhard passes away after a car accident.
1972
Arnold appears as a contestant in the popular TV show, "The Dating Game".  Wins his third Mr. Olympia title with his father watching.  It would be the last time Arnold and his father would be be together.
1973
Anorld wins his fourth Mr. Olympia title and is cast as a "bad guy" (uncredited) in Robert Altman's "The Long Goodbye".
1974
Cast as a "good guy" bodybuilder in the movie "Stay Hungry".  Cast as himself in "Pumping Iron".  Wins fifth Mr. Olympia title.
1975
Appears on The Merv Griffin Show.  Wins sixth and last Mr. Olympia title before retiring.
1976
Arnold appears in the Bob Rafelson's "Stay Hungry" as Joe Santo.
1977
"Pumping Iron" opens.  Arnold writes a bestseller, "Arnold SchwarzeneggerSchwarzenegger: The Education of a Bodybuilder.  Returns to television on an episode of "The Streets of San Francisco" playing a bad guy.  Wins a Golden Globe for Best Newcomer for his performance in "Stay Hungry".  Meets his future wife, Maria Shriver, who introduces him to the Special Olympics.
1979
Graduates with a B.A. in Business and International Economics from the University of Wisconsin Superior.  Cast as a marshall and not a bodybuilder in "The Villain".
1980
Cast in "Conan the Barbarian".
1981
Cast in "Terminator".  
1982
"Conan" opens grossing 9.6 million in its first weekend and went to gross over 100 million worldwide.
1983
Becomes and American Citizen.
1984
"Conan the Destroyer" and "Terminator" opens in movie theaters.
1985
Proposes to Maria Shriver.  Voted Nato International Star of the Year.  "Red Sonya" opens.
1986
"Commando" opens.  Marries Maria Shriver.
1987
Kicks major alien butt in "Predator".  "The Running Man" opens in theaters.  Arnold becomes 1,847th person to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
1988
"Red Heat" and "Twins" opens.
1989
Arnold opens his first Planet Hollywood with partners Slyvester Stallone and Bruce Willis in Manhattan.  First child, Katherine is born.
1990
Arnold becomes chairman of the The Inner-City Games.  Appointed Chairman of President's Council of Physical fitness.  Makes his directorial debut with "tales from the Crypt".  "Total Recall" and "Kindergarten Cop" opens. 
1991
"Terminator 2" opens.  Second child, Christina is born.
1992
Arnold finishes his 50 state tour for President's Council.  Directs "Christmas in Connecticut".
1993
Named "International Box Office Star of the Decade".  "Last Action hero" opens.  Third child, Patrick is born.
1994
"True Lies" and "Junior" opens.  Hands, feet and signature immortalized at Mann's Chinese Theater.

1996
