EdStem

We use EdStem for course discussion, announcements, as well as a place to complete and turn in assessments. Almost all questions about the course content or the assessments should be posted here since this is frequented by the whole course staff. See Office Hours for more information on how to get help on EdStem.

If you think your question may give away too much information or is more personal, you can always make the question private so it is only visible to the course staff.

You may also email Tristan or Hunter directly for more serious personal circumstances that you do not want to share with the whole course staff.

Canvas

Like many other CSE courses, we rarely will be using Canvas. Anything hosted on Canvas will be linked to from this course website. Do not message to course staff on Canvas, as we don’t check our inbox there.

Google Forms

In CSE 122, we will sometimes ask you to fill out a survey via Google Forms. To access these forms, you will need to activate and log in to your UW G-Suite account. Follow the instructions below to access the forms.

Prerequisite - Activate G Suite account

Ensure your UW G Suite account has been activated by following the steps under “Activating UW G Suite” on this page. You do not need to opt in to using Gmail for your @uw email to activate your G Suite account.

Option 1 - Incognito window

Info

Best for students with other G Suite/Google/Gmail accounts who do not want to deal with ensuring the correct account is active.

  1. Open the Form you are trying to access in an incognito/Private window by right-clicking on the link and selecting “Open link in incognito window” (or a similar option).
  2. Enter your @uw email address in the Email field.
  3. You should be directed to a UW SSO login page. Enter your UW password.
  4. If login is successful, you will be redirected to the Google Form.

Option 2 - Add UW account to available Google accounts

Info

Best for students who do not have another G Suite/Google/Gmail account or who do not want to have to log in each time.

  1. Open Google Drive (or any other Google App except Forms).
  2. Click on your initial or photo in the upper-right corner and click “Add account”.
  3. Enter your @uw email address in the Email field.
  4. If login is successful, you will be redirected to your UW Google Drive account. You should see the UW logo in the upper-right corner.
  5. Navigate to the Google Form you are trying to access. You should be able to view the Form.
  6. If you are still denied permission to the Form, return to Google Drive (or another Google App) and ensure your UW account is active. If it is not, select it by clicking on your initial or photo in the upper-right corner. Once you have confirmed your UW account is the active G Suite account, reload the Form.
  7. If you are still unable to access the Form, try Option 1 above.
