Remove objects from an image


To "remove" an object, you'll be covering it with a bit of the picture that has the same background.

1. Select the "Clone Stamp" tool: Clone Stamp Tool

2. Hold down the Alt key and click on a portion of the red bricks where there are no people (this is your "stamp" that you'll paste over the pedestrian):

2. Now choose the size of the area the stamp will replace by selecting a "brush". Click on the little corner arrow and then choose a size from the window that appears..

3. Finally, place the cursor over a pedestrian and click:

The pedestrian appears to have disappeared:disappearing pedestrians

4. For practice, make more pedestrians disappear:

Next, you'll be inserting the Mt. St. Helens image into the Red Square image

If you get this error message:

This probably means your clone wasn't created correctly, or was lost when you clicked elsewhere.

1. Ctrl-click on the Red Square image to select it.

2. Alt-click on the spot you want to clone.

3. Click on top of a pedestrian. (Ignore their screams!)
