Course Description

We are introducing a new computer vision seminar this quarter. This reading and discussion seminar will explore the state of the art  and recent research in the computer vision community. We will focus on papers from recent computer vision conferences.

Participants will contribute to leading discussions and reviewing  papers.

Course format

1. The paper discussion will be in three parts.

a) A presentation of the main technical points of the paper by the people leading the discussion.

b) We will break up into 3-4 subgroups to discuss the questions raised by the paper. A list of questions for discussion will be distributed.

c) We will get back together and each group will talk about their answers to the questions.

2. The reviews are due midnight wednesday instead of saturday. This is so that the presenters have more time to prepare the presentation for the class while taking the reviews into consideration. Email your reviews to Indri and Sameer.

3. The group presenting the paper should prepare the presentation and meet  with either Indri, Sameer or Eli (to be decided before hand for each paper) and discuss the paper and the presentation. This will be on thursdays at a time that can be mutually agreed on.

4. Both the reviewers and presenters of the paper have to come up with questions for discussion in the class. These questions will be printed and distributed during the class.
