(Note, turned in after midnight - it took a really long time to render). This is a bit of an abstract piece created by using a grayscale image to generate a plane full of semi-transparent boxes - one for each pixel in the image. The height of the box is determined by the pixel value - the darker the pixel, the taller the box. The camera hovers above this plane, looking down, and a directional white light source streams up through the plane of boxes it illuminate them from below.
