Since we are running an older version of Hadoop on the cluster, you will need to download Hadoop 0.7.2 to install locally on your development environment.

While you're welcome to develop in other platforms, we recommend using Eclipse with IBM's Eclipse MapReduce plugin. If you don't have an IBM user ID, you can skip it and download MapReduce plugin version 1.0.2 here.
