Motion Assignment 2: Jump!

Part 1: Jumps!

• 
  
  Download the Hogan character.

• Planning sheets and video reference are a MUST!
• Complete a straight jump (standing in a neutral position in one place and jumping to another position at the same height settling into a neutral position) and a box jump (standing in a neutral position in one place and jumping on a box of a given height and then jumping off of it to land in a neutral pose).

Part 2: Push/Pull planning sheets!

• Decide whether to animated a push or a pull.
• Draw out a planning sheet describing the key poses to tell the story.

Turn-in

HW1 Part 1: Jumps

• Reference video(s).
• Planning sheets in JPG form.
• Turn in 3 playblasts: one from the side camera, one from the front camera, and one from a clear perpective camera.
• Maya Asc/Binary file.

HW1 Part 2: Planning Sheet for Push/Pull

• Planning sheet(s) in JPG form.

Grading Criteria

HW1 Part 1: Jump

• Fluidity in motion (no jerks, abrupt stops and pops)
• Nice motion paths/arcs
• Demonstration of ease-in ease-out (the feet)
• Overlapping motion (the hips shouldn't move exactly in-sync with the feet)
• Use of reference
