I tried to emphasize the top of the waterfall with lines following the image gradient to preserve the top line (this kind of failed because of the cloud behind it, but created a water-spray sort of effect that I like), then the middle of the waterfall with thin scattered lines following the mouse down (also failed somewhat, due to the first set of lines being drawn at angle 0... if I had time I'd have a brush not paint on the first couple calls to brush_move if the direction is specified by mouse direction, to give the mouse direction some time to take effect). Finally I used circles to simulate the mist at the bottom, which I think worked fairly nicely.
