Homework 1 Clarifications

Problem 2

• Technically, the equation for polarization attenuation should be

  a = | f . p |

where | x | is the absolute value of x.  I doubt this would affect anyone's answers, but I'm noting it for completeness and correctness.

• My color scale in this problem is [0.0...1.0] for each color channel, as opposed to [0...256].  So, (1,1,1) could be written (1.0,1.0,1.0) which is bright white.

• You do not strictly need to name the colors that get produced.  It is enough to give the RGB color coordinates.

Problem 3

• You do not need to worry about flipping for convolution; you can think of everything in "pre-flipped" form, as you did for impressionist.

• Assume the y-axis is "up".  So, the line x=y is along a diagonal running from the bottom-left corner of an image to the upper right corner of the image.
