ACT I |
1 |
Spot is staring into the
distance where he sees the Maelstroms looking happy and high-fiving each other
with their fins. They are touching the
soft inside of shellfish and swimming quickly away before the shellfish snap
shut. |
1 |
Spot, looking sad, turns away
from the Maelstroms and begins to sweep sand with his fins. |

1 |
Spot stops sweeping and stares
into the distance where he sees the Maelstroms, who are now closer and still
looking happy and high-fiving each other with their fins, bounce on a crab
and get away before the pincers grab them. |

1 |
Spot, looking sad, turns
away from the Maelstroms and begins to doodle in the sand with his fins. |
|
1 |
Spot stops doodling and
looks down. |
|
1 |
Spot is looking at a
picture he has drawn in the sand of the Maelstroms bouncing on a crab. |
|
1 |
Spot draws himself into the
picture. |
|
1 |
The Maelstroms swim by and
see the picture Spot has drawn. |
|
1 |
The Maelstroms wave at Spot
with their fins in a gesture to join them. |

1 |
Spot, looking happy, swims off
with the Maelstroms. |
|
ACT II |
2 |
The Maelstroms get excited
when they see a sleeping whale. |
2 |
One by one the Maelstroms sneak up and touch the whale’s face and then smile and high-five each other. |
|
2 |
It is Spot’s turn to touch the whale but Spot is afraid (his heart is pounding and his eyes are huge and he is in a semi-fetal position). |

3 |
Spot closes his eyes and
swims slowly towards the whale’s face, tentatively waving his fin around in
an effort to touch the whale. |
|
3 |
Before Spot reaches the
whale, the whale wakes up and slowly opens its eye. |
|
3 |
Spot pokes the whale’s eye
with his fin. |
|
3 |
Spot opens his eyes and,
seeing that he is staring into the eye of the angry whale, is terrified. |
|
4 |
Spot starts swimming away
from the whale as fast as he can. |
|
4 |
The whale chases Spot into
a hole in a rock. |
|
4 |
The whale rams the rock. |
|
4 |
A terrified Spot is looking
out of the rock. |
|
4 |
The whale shakes his head
in pain and swims away. |
|
ACT III |
5 |
The Maelstroms come by looking around for Spot. |
5 |
The Maelstroms find Spot as he is leaving the hole, still looking uneasy, and wave at him with their fins in a gesture to join them. |
|
5 |
Spot vehemently shakes his head in refusal. |
|
5 |
Spot, looking determined, and
the Maelstroms, shrugging disinterestedly, swim in different directions. |
|
|
5 |
Spot looks at the picture
he had drawn before joining the Maelstroms. |

Spot frowns. |
|
5 |
Spot sweeps away the
picture with his fins. |
|
5 |
Spot, looking focused and intent, begins to draw a picture of a picture of himself
smiling and alone. |
