Bicep Brian in a Ball Pit

Project 1 Artifact

If this image doesn't make any sense to you, don't worry: it wasn't intended to. When one is tasked with producing an artifact using image composition, it's tempting to combine images that don't really belong together, for humorous effect.

Bicep Brian was made using my iScissor program to create the masks, IrfanView to convert between image formats, and The GIMP to resize and assemble the images into one single image. This image is made of three GIMP layers, which are described below. You can click on each picture for a full-size version.

I put the Brian Curless picture from the sample images on top, with everything except his face masked out. I used The GIMP's Hue and Saturation tool to change the hue of Brian's face to orange, and to increase the saturation, so that his face would better match the bodybuilder's body. Then, I scaled down the size of his face to be just large enough to cover the bodybuilder's face.

Beneath Brian's face, I added a bodybuilder's picture with everything behind him and below his hips masked out. Obtained from this blog.

For the background, I used a ball pit picture, scaled down to make Brian look bigger. It came from here.
