Mayhem's system is built upon a simple concept: When something happens, do something else. An event can be as simple as pushing the spacebar on the keyboard, or more complicated — making a certain gesture with the Kinect, or something not physical at all such as when someone updates their Facebook status or receives an email. A reaction can be anything from opening the blinds to your house, to taking a picture with your webcam and uploading it to Facebook, to sending a text message.
By pairing events and reactions together, Mayhem becomes a powerful tool for users to create their own personalized applications without needing to know anything at all about programming.
