As with all text books, there are mistakes, although surprisingly few (that are documented, at least). Consult the errata sheet.

  1. Week of 13Jan2014 and some of week 20Jan2014: Read Cooper and Torczon Chapter 2.1 through 2.5. That's the whole chapter 2, except "advanced topics".
  2. Week of 22Jan2014 : Read Cooper and Torczon Chapter 3.1 through 3.3.
  3. Week of 29Jan2014 : Read Cooper and Torczon Chapter 3.4 (skim last parts) and 3.5.
  4. Weeks of mid February: Chapter 7 (Code Shape) we've talked about pretty much all of this, one way or another, although haven't talked about code generation for machines with predicated execution.
  5. Weeks of 03Mar and later: Sections 8.1 through 8.4.2; 8.6.1 (data flow equations); 8.7; Sections 9.1; 9.2.2; Sections 11.1 through 11.4 (instruction selection).
